Aftermath:
The gold rushes were very important since these events
stimulated shipping, commerce, and manufacturing throughout
the civilized world during the second half of the 19th
century. Additionally, the discovery of huge supplies of
gold inflated the world’s currencies and led to most leading
nations adopting the gold standard. Gold has also led to the
growth of many significant cities even though the regions
that these cities were located on where previous isolated,
slow- growing provinces or untouched wilderness. Several
examples include San Francisco, Denver, Vancouver and
Melbourne. Finally, the gold rush attracted various types of
transportation to sparsely populated areas and also launched
the mining industry.
